(Vancouver, B.C.) – He is on many professional wrestlers ‘Mount Rushmore’ and on Friday, March 24th, 2023, Japanese legend Minoru Suzuki will be in Vancouver for a one-night only engagement with Nation Extreme Wrestling at the Commodore Ballroom.
“I cannot put into words how incredibly honoured I am to be able to say that Suzuki will be in Vancouver with our company,” states NEW’s Rob Fai.
“This is without question a pinnacle moment for us as Suzuki is so much larger than just wrestling and to have him not just appear but sign a contract to fight one of our NEW stars is truly exceptional. All three of our Japan-based stars heading to Vancouver are truly special for us to have terms with.”
In addition to his historic wrestling accolades, Suzuki, 54, is also revered as one of the pioneers of Mixed Martial Arts influencing the likes of Ken Shamrock, Josh Barnett and Bas Rutten. After fighting within the octagon for a decade amassing 30 victories and the King of Pancrase Openweight title, Suzuki returned to wrestling to continue his journey fundamentally shaping the industry with a combination of technical superiority alongside a mental warfare that few could match over his 35 year career.
Along with Suzuki, The Fallen Idol, Maki Itoh returns to Nation Extreme Wrestling after making her debut in the fall of 2022. Itoh is one of the most recognizable wrestlers within the industry having worked with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling since 2016 and more recently with All Elite Wrestling (2021).
Prior to her wrestling exploits, Itoh was a member of the Japanese pop group LinQ and is currently with Tokiwoikiru.
Nation Extreme Wrestling is proud to welcome Miyu Yamashita to Vancouver for the first time rounding out the headliners for NEW 12 set for Friday, March 24th, 2023, at the Commodore Ballroom.
Considered the ‘ace’ of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, Yamashita is known as the ‘Pink Striker’ thanks to her strong kicks and karate-based offence. In Japan, she is currently a tag-team partner with Maki Itoh but for this show she will compete in single’s action.
Tickets to Nation Extreme Wrestling at the legendary Commodore Ballroom will go on-sale through Ticketmaster on Wednesday, February 10th, 2023.
